GA Farmer Handbook (Mushroom)
Published as “Goa Directorate of Agriculture Farmer Friendly Handbook 2025-26, Mushrooms”, Directorate of Agriculture, Government of Goa.
GA Farmer Handbook (Mushroom) is Goa’s own scheme, administered by Directorate of Agriculture, Government of Goa. It is verified against a primary document, with 3 rules for mushroom cultivation below.
The most this pays for one item
₹12.00 lakh
The mushroom growing/production unit itself.
Printed in the document as “Production unit”.
Private applicant, general area, 40%. That percentage is taken off what you actually spend, and this figure is the most it will ever come to, not a sum the scheme hands over.

The biggest of the 3 items this document prices, not the total of them. Whether you can claim more than one, and alongside which other scheme, is answered further down.
What it pays for
Everything this document will put money towards on a mushroom project, in the order it lists them. Each figure names the document behind it; open one to read the clause itself.
Production unit
The mushroom growing/production unit itself.
A share of what you actually spend on this item, and never more than ₹12,00,000 however much that is.

By applicant class and by area
Table row (PDF p.12), verbatim: "Production unit | Private Sector | 40% of cost for private sector, for meeting the expenditure on infrastructure, as credit linked back ended subsidy." No public-sector/100% row is printed for this component in this document (unlike AP's and Telangana's own MIDH guidelines), so none is recorded here, omission, not a claim that Goa denies public-sector applicants.
Spawn making unit
The spawn laboratory.
A share of what you actually spend on this item, and never more than ₹8,00,000 however much that is.

Who can claim it
This scheme prices a rate for general applicants.
The conditions
- Does this need a bank loan? (credit linked)
- Yes. The subsidy rides on a bank loan: a bank sanctions the loan and the subsidy is adjusted against it.
- When does the money arrive? (back ended)
- After you build, and after an inspection. The subsidy is held in a reserve account and released once the project has been inspected and found complete, not paid up front.
- Must it be approved before you start work? (sanction before commencement)
- We searched this document for a clause requiring sanction before you start work and did not find one. That is not the same as there being no such rule: it may sit in a document we have not read. Confirm with your sanctioning department and your bank before committing spend. Read why we will not resolve this either way.
Claiming this alongside another scheme
Checked against every other scheme this atlas holds. For most pairs no document says anything either way, and this page says so rather than guessing.
Read against 43 other schemes: 1 excluded, 42 unconfirmed.
Excluded
MIDH Excluded alongside MIDH.

This document's own table names the funding source for all three mushroom rows, verbatim, as "National Horticulture Mission (NHM) (Central)", Goa is not claiming an independently-invented state benefit here, it is listing the central MIDH scheme for its farmers' benefit, in a farmer-facing handbook that also lists many other purely central schemes the same way (coconut, banana, spices, cashew rejuvenation, etc., all tagged "(Central)" in the same column). Marked 'excluded' rather than 'stackable' so a Goa farmer is never shown this record's rules and midh-2025's as two independent, additive sums for the same component.
Unconfirmed
For most pairs of schemes, this reading found nothing in either document that says how the two combine.
Neither guideline addresses this combination. Confirm with the department before you rely on it.

What to do next
Work out what your own project would draw.
What GA Farmer Handbook (Mushroom) pays you depends on your own state, size and cost. The calculator asks where you are, what you are building and what it costs, then prices every scheme on this site against that, shows the document behind each figure, and writes a link you can send to your bank.
Or have MushroomWale build it.
MushroomWale designs and builds mushroom farms. For the farms we build, we also prepare and pursue the claim: the DPR, the documents, the bank, the sanctioning department and the joint inspection.
We prepare and pursue the claim only for farms we build.
