State scheme
KL SHM Mushroom (MIDH + RKVY)
Published as “Kerala State Horticulture Mission mushroom cultivation component”, State Horticulture Mission, Government of Kerala (SHM-Keralam).
KL SHM Mushroom (MIDH + RKVY) is Kerala’s own scheme, administered by State Horticulture Mission, Government of Kerala (SHM-Keralam). It is verified against a primary document, with 5 rules for mushroom cultivation below.
The most this pays for one item
₹8.00 lakh
The mushroom growing/production unit itself, under SHM Kerala's MIDH-funded scheme.
Printed in the document as “കൂൺ ഉത്പാദന യൂണിറ്റ് (Mushroom production unit)”.
Private applicant, general area, 40%. That percentage is taken of ₹20.00 lakh, the cost this scheme assumes the item takes to build (it calls that a cost norm), not of whatever your own quotation says.

The biggest of the 3 items this document prices, not the total of them. Whether you can claim more than one, and alongside which other scheme, is answered further down.
What it pays for
Everything this document will put money towards on a mushroom project, in the order it lists them. Each figure names the document behind it; open one to read the clause itself.
കൂൺ ഉത്പാദന യൂണിറ്റ് (Mushroom production unit)
The mushroom growing/production unit itself, under SHM Kerala's MIDH-funded scheme.
The scheme assumes this item costs ₹20.00 lakh to build, and pays a share of that, not of your own quotation. It calls that figure a cost norm.

Corroborated by the p.22-23 table (public-sector row: 2 units targeted, ₹40.00 lakh financial target = exactly 2 x ₹20 lakh) and by a real FY2022-23 disbursement named in the narrative: ₹20.00 lakh sanctioned to the Open Prison, Nettukaltheri, Thiruvananthapuram, for one public-sector unit. On the gap against the current central norm: this is not a lower rate the state set for itself, it is the central norm the current one replaced. The Ministry of Agriculture's own earlier MIDH Operational Guidelines, dated February 2014 on its title page, prices exactly these three components at exactly these figures at Annexure-V, item "III. Mushrooms", and Government of India Annual Action Plans for states well outside this set (Punjab 2021-22 among them) reproduce them under the heading "Maximum permissible cost". Two things that does NOT mean. This atlas holds the two central guidelines and not the revisions between them, so it cannot say when the norm was raised; and a page written while that was the central norm was correct when it was written, so nothing here says this department erred. See "The Rs 20 lakh figure is the old central one" under How it works, which shows the earlier guideline in full.

The p.22-23 table only shows an achieved private-sector row for this component (1 unit, Ernakulam district, ₹8.00 lakh -- exactly 40% of ₹20 lakh) -- no public-sector compost unit was actually sanctioned in FY2022-23, but the narrative's 100% public-sector rate is stated regardless of whether a beneficiary existed that year. Who can claim it

The conditions
- Does this need a bank loan? (credit linked)
- No. Nothing in this document makes a bank loan a condition of what it offers.
- When does the money arrive? (back ended)
- The document records no reserve account and no hold-back mechanism, so nothing in it describes anything being held back until the work is done.
- Must it be approved before you start work? (sanction before commencement)
- We searched this document for a clause requiring sanction before you start work and did not find one. That is not the same as there being no such rule: it may sit in a document we have not read. Confirm with your sanctioning department and your bank before committing spend. Read why we will not resolve this either way.
Claiming this alongside another scheme
Checked against every other scheme this atlas holds. For most pairs no document says anything either way, and this page says so rather than guessing.
Read against 43 other schemes: 43 unconfirmed.
Unconfirmed
For most pairs of schemes, this reading found nothing in either document that says how the two combine.
Neither guideline addresses this combination. Confirm with the department before you rely on it.

A note on what changed in this reasoning, and what did not. This verdict used to rest, in part, on the cost norms here being "genuinely different" from central MIDH's, which was read as a sign of a separate, state-authored schedule. That reading was wrong: Rs 20 lakh / Rs 15 lakh / Rs 20 lakh is the central norm the current one replaced. The figures therefore distinguish nothing on their own, in either direction, and the verdict below is re-derived without them. Re-derived, and still unconfirmed, for a reason that has nothing to do with the figures. Unlike every other record in this set, this ONE scheme spans two separate funding streams: three MIDH-funded rows (the production, spawn and compost units, read off the MIDH section of the report) and two RKVY-funded rows (the small-scale unit at ₹11,250 and the hi-tech milky mushroom unit at ₹1 lakh, read off a table on p.28 headed "Schemes implemented with the financial assistance of Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana"). A stacking verdict in this ledger is recorded per SCHEME, not per rule, so marking this record 'excluded' against midh-2025 would also bar a Kerala applicant from combining an RKVY-funded row with central MIDH on a different component, which no document read for this record says, in either direction. The MIDH rows on their own would now read the same way Andhra Pradesh's and Karnataka's do (the state publishing the central mission's own components at the central mission's norms of the day), but that cannot be recorded here without over-applying to the RKVY rows. Left 'unconfirmed', which is the verdict that asserts least. Separately, and unchanged: neither the report nor the RKVY table states whether a Kerala beneficiary drawing state-administered assistance may also draw central MIDH funding for the same component.

What to do next
Work out what your own project would draw.
What KL SHM Mushroom (MIDH + RKVY) pays you depends on your own state, size and cost. The calculator asks where you are, what you are building and what it costs, then prices every scheme on this site against that, shows the document behind each figure, and writes a link you can send to your bank.
Or have MushroomWale build it.
MushroomWale designs and builds mushroom farms. For the farms we build, we also prepare and pursue the claim: the DPR, the documents, the bank, the sanctioning department and the joint inspection.
We prepare and pursue the claim only for farms we build.
