Central scheme
PMFME
Published as “PM Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises Scheme (PM FME Scheme)”, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India.
PMFME is a central scheme administered by Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India, applying in every state and union territory alike. It is verified against a primary document which, read end to end, funds nothing for mushroom cultivation.
What it pays for
This document was read end to end and funds nothing for mushroom cultivation, so this page publishes no rate. That is a finding, not a gap.
What it pays for
Read end to end against its primary document. PMFME funds nothing for mushroom cultivation, so no rate is shown here. That is a finding, not a gap: the document beside this text is why.
Who can claim it
No applicant class is priced under this scheme. See What it pays for, above, for why.
The conditions
- Does this need a bank loan? (credit linked)
- Yes. The subsidy rides on a bank loan: a bank sanctions the loan and the subsidy is adjusted against it.
- When does the money arrive? (back ended)
- The document records no reserve account and no hold-back mechanism, so nothing in it describes anything being held back until the work is done.
- Must it be approved before you start work? (sanction before commencement)
- We searched this document for a clause requiring sanction before you start work and did not find one. That is not the same as there being no such rule: it may sit in a document we have not read. Confirm with your sanctioning department and your bank before committing spend. Read why we will not resolve this either way.
Claiming this alongside another scheme
Checked against every other scheme this atlas holds. For most pairs no document says anything either way, and this page says so rather than guessing.
Read against 43 other schemes: 2 stackable, 41 unconfirmed.
Stackable
AIF Stackable alongside AIF. Recorded on AIF’s own page, not on this scheme’s document.
PMFME is named explicitly in the Section 13 "e.g." list quoted on the midh-2025 stacking entry above.Read the rest of the reasoning
PMFME is named explicitly in the Section 13 "e.g." list quoted on the midh-2025 stacking entry above. PMFME currently carries no mushroom rule (noMushroomComponent: true), so this does not presently combine with anything for a mushroom applicant. Same capital-subsidy-as-promoter's-contribution caveat as against MIDH would apply if that changes.
PMKSY Cold Chain Stackable alongside PMKSY Cold Chain. Recorded on PMKSY Cold Chain’s own page, not on this scheme’s document.
Same Section 12 "Dovetailing of Assistance" blanket permission as against midh-2025. Moot today, no mushroom rule on either side of this pair (pmfme-2020 also carries noMushroomComponent: true).
Unconfirmed
For most pairs of schemes, this reading found nothing in either document that says how the two combine.
Neither guideline addresses this combination. Confirm with the department before you rely on it.
PMFME carries no mushroom-relevant rule (see noMushroomComponent above), so no combination with MIDH currently arises for a mushroom applicant.Read the rest of the reasoning
PMFME carries no mushroom-relevant rule (see noMushroomComponent above), so no combination with MIDH currently arises for a mushroom applicant. Neither document addresses PMFME-MIDH combination directly; recorded unconfirmed rather than inferred.
Same reasoning as against midh-2025: PMFME has no mushroom rule of its own, and neither document addresses combining the two schemes.
SMAM Recorded on SMAM’s own page, not on this scheme’s document.
PMFME carries no rules at all (noMushroomComponent). No clause addresses combining with SMAM.

The scheme is structured around One District One Product (ODOP), §2.2–2.6 (pp.4–5) and §4.2(ii) (p.7) tie eligibility to whatever product a district has nominated, and no product or food category is named anywhere in the guideline (the closest the document comes to naming products at all is the illustrative list at §2.2: "honey, minor forest products in tribal areas, traditional Indian herbal edible items like turmeric, amla, haldi, etc.", mushroom is not among them, and this list is explicitly non-exhaustive/illustrative, not a component schedule).”

What to do next
Work out what your own project would draw.
What PMFME pays you depends on your own state, size and cost. The calculator asks where you are, what you are building and what it costs, then prices every scheme on this site against that, shows the document behind each figure, and writes a link you can send to your bank.
Or have MushroomWale build it.
MushroomWale designs and builds mushroom farms. For the farms we build, we also prepare and pursue the claim: the DPR, the documents, the bank, the sanctioning department and the joint inspection.
We prepare and pursue the claim only for farms we build.
